The theme of this edition of the AVPN Global Conference in Hong Kong from September 9 to 11 is ‘Asian Leadership for an Inclusive World,’ exploring the role of impact investment in addressing crucial challenges in the areas of climate, health, gender, and education.

Dalberg will be convening alongside Asia’s largest community of social investors to share insights, exchange ideas, and take part in key events. Join us at these sessions to exploring how innovative financing can improve healthcare systems:

From Philanthropy to Markets: Unlocking New Models for Health Investment

Dalberg Global Managing Partner Gaurav Gupta will moderate this panel discussion on the challenges facing the health and nutrition sectors, featuring Anna Hakobyan, Chief Impact Officer and Executive Director for Nutrition, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation; and Dr Ayoade Alakija, board chair of FIND, the World Health Organization (WHO) Special Envoy for the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, and co-chair of the Principals Group, Triple I for Global Health.

How can philanthropy and the private sector come together to create equitable health systems? How do we build impactful financing models at scale? These are just some of the questions that will be debated.

🗓️ September 10, 4.15 PM HKT

Mind Matters: Collaborative Capital for Youth Mental Resilience

Hosted by Dalberg, EMpower, and AVPN, this panel discussion will tackle the mental health crisis afflicting youth in Asia. Even though issues such as anxiety, climate grief, and social exclusion are rampant, mental healthcare remains underfunded, removed from reality, and concentrated in urban environments. Collaborative capital is needed to spur the much-needed transformation of care systems.

The speakers include Cynthia Steele, CEO, EMpower; Rahul Chandran, Chief Partnerships and Strategy Office, Grand Challenges Canada; and Kieren Lewis, Strategic Partnerships Lead, Wellcome Trust.

🗓️ September 11, 4.15 PM HKT

We hope to engage in meaningful discussions that move beyond ideas to action, working with partners to shape innovative financing models and strengthen health and social systems across Asia. Explore the full program here: https://avpn.asia/conference/.
