Burnout has been found to affect 50–70% of educators in Asian countries. Thoughtful implementation of digital technologies, by school and government leaders alike, can help save time, reduce administrative burdens, and reallocate teachers’ energy to what matters most: teaching and learning. While digital tools, and now artificial intelligence, have long been heralded as the future of education, their real impact across Asia’s diverse contexts has remained fragmented and under-explored.
To address this, Google for Education, Intel, Lenovo, and Dalberg have been collaborating since 2021, piloting digital transformation initiatives across nine countries in the Asia Pacific and surveying over 300+ teachers and 1,000+ students.
This video showcases highlights from that journey—spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam—where schools have embraced technology to:
• Foster creativity and collaboration among students
• Empower teachers with new tools to plan, teach, and assess
• Build more inclusive and equitable learning environments
Dalberg’s work demonstrates how evidence-based, context-sensitive implementation of educational technology can deliver tangible improvements in teacher wellbeing, student engagement, and school innovation.
