Building a New Anti-Slavery Movement Led by Women and Survivors
We helped launch a new initiative in India designed to unleash the leadership potential of women and survivors, supporting them with the skills and networks needed to build a movement to end slavery in their communities and beyond.

COVID-19 Impact on Governance, Peace & Security in Horn of Africa and Sahel
We worked with Africa CDC, the African Union, and UNDP to assess the impact of COVID-19 on governance, peace, and security in the 13 countries of the Horn of Africa and the Sahel.

Developing a Women’s Inclusion Toolkit
We designed a women’s inclusion toolkit for NAMA Women Advancement Establishment. The toolkit aimed to (i) support private sector companies in assessing how gender equitable they currently are, and; (ii) provide customized recommendations to increase women’s equity and equality in private sector workplaces

INDIA
UBSOF – Quality education India development impact bond
Dalberg is working with UBS Optimus Foundation, BAT, MSDF and Tata Trusts on the design and performance management of the “Quality Education India” Development Impact Bond. Dalberg identified the most suitable NGOs, designed the financing model and coordinated different stakeholders. Dalberg designed a performance management framework and will be working with NGOs to diagnose potential challenges in interventions, and is planning to develop recommendations around addressing those challenges

Sasakawa Peace Foundation – Asia women’s impact fund strategy
Dalberg Global Development Advisors was appointed by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) to conduct an initial market assessment of the landscape of gender lens investing in Asia and Theory of Change for the Women’s Impact Fund, a USD 100 million impact investment fund that aims to increase positive gender outcomes in Asia. SENEGAL
Launching the Senegal women’s investment club
We designed and launched a commercially-oriented investment platform where women can learn from one another. The Senegal Women’s Investment Club is the first initiative in the region to mobilize exclusively female investment into a broad portfolio that over time will bridge the gender finance gap by supporting women-led businesses.

EUROPE
CDC – Women’s 2X measurement definition
Dalberg is currently working with CDC to operationalize their commitment to participate in the 2X challenge, an effort by leading Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to mobilize $3B in financing to women’s equality.

AFRICA
Increasing employment opportunities for women in Southeast Asia through ICT
We analyzed interventions that leverage ICT for female participation in the workforce. We recommended investments to a foundation which could help over 20 million women in Southeast Asia begin and remain productive in their work.

INDIA
Reviewing the gender gap in financial inclusion in India
We completed a landscape review of the gender gap in financial inclusion in India to inform our client’s work in the broader financial services and gender ecosystem. We integrated findings into a set of behavior patterns, and highlighted key action items for different stakeholders.

Supporting the expansion of educate girls
We supported Educate Girls to identify a new country to expand its program to and developed a high-level roadmap for expansion. We helped the NGO to increase its beneficiary base to improve enrolment and retention outcomes in a new country.

Increasing economic empowerment of women and girls through a global platform
We designed a global platform to support financial inclusion for the United Nations Capital Development Fund, aiming to increase economic empowerment of women and girls. We developed an empowerment framework, analyzed women and girls’ financial needs, mapped the financial inclusion space, and created operational and resource mobilization plans.

Expanding the movement of women funding women and girls
We collaborated with Women Moving Millions to develop a ‘call to action’ report that serves to define and expand the movement of women funding women and girls.

INDIA, INDONESIA, KENYA
Empowering women to use the mobile internet
We produced a groundbreaking report – based on primary user research in Kenya, India, and Indonesia – that analyzes the challenges women face when accessing mobile internet with low mobile literacy and digital skills, and presented recommendations for key stakeholders to address them.

UNITED STATES
Decoding diversity: The financial and economic returns of diversity in tech
We worked with Intel to complete a rigorous analysis of gender and ethnic diversity in the U.S. tech workforce. We quantified that improving diversity in the technology sector could create $470 – $570Bn in new value for the tech industry, and could add 1.2 – 1.6% to US GDP.

GLOBAL
Integrating gender into an agricultural portfolio
We developed a strategy to integrate gender-responsive interventions across the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s agricultural portfolio. We articulated the investment case for gender-responsive interventions and created a strategic framework for identifying key gender constraints at each step along the agricultural value chain.

UNITED STATES
Developing a strategic plan for the Center for Reproductive Rights
We supported the Center for Reproductive Rights to develop its five-year strategic plan by identifying key trends, challenges, and opportunities in the reproductive rights landscape and facilitating workshops to help the Center define its vision and core activities.
