India’s climate transition is entering a defining phase. As global supply chains shift, clean technologies scale, and capital searches for credible destinations, India stands at the center of a new industrial opportunity. The decisions taken today — on manufacturing capacity, financing models, technology ecosystems, and global partnerships — will shape India’s competitiveness for decades to come.

Bharat Climate Forum (BCF) 2026 builds on this moment. Convened by the Council for International Economic Understanding (CIEU) in collaboration with Dalberg Advisors, the Forum brought together leaders across government, industry, finance, multilaterals, philanthropy, and civil society to focus on one central question: How does India accelerate delivery at scale?

A Platform for Implementation

BCF 2026 marked a shift toward execution — anchoring discussions in investable pathways, policy coherence, and state-level action. The occasion was graced by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, alongside senior Union Ministers and distinguished leaders, reflecting the national priority placed on aligning climate strategy with economic growth.

Key conversations centered on:

  • Scaling domestic cleantech manufacturing and strengthening supply chain resilience
  • Mobilizing catalytic and blended capital to crowd in private investment
  • Enhancing state-level implementation and institutional capacity
  • Advancing global collaboration through a partnership-led model

Building the Enablers

Across sessions, a consistent message emerged: delivery depends on alignment.

  • Policy reform must move in step with capital deployment.
  • Technology innovation must connect with domestic manufacturing ecosystems.
  • State governments must be empowered with tools, data, and financing frameworks.
  • International partnerships must translate into technology transfer and market access.

The Forum spotlighted concrete pathways to strengthen these enablers — from manufacturing roadmaps and investment accelerators to cross-border collaboration platforms.

From Dialogue to Delivery

India’s climate opportunity extends beyond emissions targets. It encompasses industrial growth, job creation, export competitiveness, and regional leadership. Realizing this opportunity requires sustained coordination across sectors and jurisdictions, supported by long-term capital and institutional reform.

BCF 2026 was designed as more than a convening. It serves as a platform to translate dialogue into measurable progress — strengthening domestic capacity while positioning India as a trusted partner in global climate solutions.

The BCF 2026 Report captures the insights, commitments, and pathways that emerged.
