John Bazley is an Associate Program Director at Dalberg Advisors where he co-leads the firm’s Strategy Activation work in the Americas. He has partnered with public, private, and philanthropic sectors to fuel inclusive growth and help clients achieve their goals through delivering strategic advice, analytics, and other decision aids. He has delivered over 30 projects to date across 15 countries, spanning a range of sectors, including finance and investment, agriculture and food security, climate and environment, health and nutrition, energy access, and data and technology. Within Dalberg’s Justice, Equity, and Mobility practice he has worked with a range of clients including Blue Meridian Partners, the Ballmer Group, Gates Foundation, and NYCEDC.
Within Strategy Activation he is currently working with Community Education Building (CEB) and REACH Riverside in Wilmington, Delaware to deliver on a multi-year cradle-to-career initiative (CORE) that aims to narrow the achievement and wealth gaps for 2,000 students. In addition, he is supporting the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in 1) the implementation of its Wealth Solutions Accelerator and 2) to pilot AI-driven research projects to advance effective wealth building and retention solutions for lower-income households in New England. He is also working with Freedom Forum to deliver on a high-profile event in Nashville, TN to raise awareness of, and engagement with, the First Amendment. Prior examples include partnering with the Urban Institute and Common Future to design, develop, and incubate the Mobility Alliance concept, a cross-sectoral initiative for advancing upward mobility in the US, and working with the U.S. Trade & Development Agency on a multi-year, in-depth assessment of the commercial and technical viability of a proposed expansion of the current broadband services network of Mawingu Networks, an internet service provider targeting smaller cities and rural areas in Kenya.
Before joining Dalberg John spent four years with Standard Bank Group in both the Retail and Corporate arms of the business, with a focus on analytics and strategy across 16 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. John completed his MBA at the University of Cape Town as a Bertha Scholar. He completed his Bachelor of Business Science degree (Econ) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
